1. The service
Nexus lists approved service providers and brokers referrals between them. It is a directory and an authorization broker. It is not a records repository, not a clearinghouse, and not a provider of legal or medical services.
2. Participation is by approval
Applying to join the directory does not create a listing. An application is reviewed by NXi staff and may be approved or declined. NXi products (AIro, Medical, VRWTC) are approved automatically as first-party participants.
3. Leaving the directory
A participant may remove itself from the directory at any time, through the API or the portal, without requiring approval. Withdrawal is never blocked by an unpaid balance or a billing hold. Records of past disclosures are retained after withdrawal, as compliance requires.
4. Credentials
API credentials are issued to a participant and are bound to it. You are responsible for keeping them secret, for the actions taken with them, and for reporting a suspected compromise promptly so the credential can be revoked. A credential is shown once, at creation, and cannot be retrieved afterwards.
5. Authorization is a precondition, not a formality
By creating a referral you represent that you have obtained the patient's or plaintiff's authorization for the disclosure described, that it is accurate in scope, and that you hold the underlying authorization record. Requesting or using a grant without a valid authorization is a misuse of the service and grounds for immediate suspension.
6. Minimum necessary
Information exchanged following a referral must be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the referred service. Nexus limits what it holds to the same standard.
7. Acceptable use
You may not scrape or bulk-extract the directory, use it to build a competing listing, probe or circumvent access controls, exceed published rate limits, or use the service to contact listed providers for purposes unrelated to a referral.
8. Fees
External participants are charged a subscription. Billing is administered by NXi's billing service; Nexus itself processes no payments. If a subscription lapses, access degrades to read-only: existing referrals and records remain readable and the participant stays listed, but new referrals and new grants cannot be created until the subscription is current. Billing pages and withdrawal remain reachable at all times.
9. Availability
The service is provided on an "as available" basis. NXi does not warrant uninterrupted operation and may perform maintenance and deploy changes without notice.
10. Suspension
NXi may suspend or remove a participant that breaches these terms, misuses patient authorizations, or presents a security risk to other participants.
11. Changes
These terms may be updated. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
